The Triangle also known as Broadwater Cross marked the intersection between Broadwater Road and Broadwater Street.

Saint Mary's church in Broadwater is pictured in the background. There has been a church in Broadwater since 1086. The tower was rebuilt in the 14th Century as it became unstable with the stones being reused to make the tower. The tower "lost" its steeple in the 1820's as further extensive restoration works were carried out. Even more restoration was required in the 1880's as the walls of the chancel were found to be bulging outwards. The clock was installed in the tower in around 1903
